Display Energy Certificates

Energy ratings for public buildings are different from commercial property, in that an operational rating based on actual energy bills is used to illustrate how the building performs.

Any local authority property or building which received state funding of any kind and that is visited by the public must have a Display Energy Certificate available for view.

This includes government and local authority buildings, NHS properties, libraries, schools and council offices.

Providing certificates since 2010

These certificates are renewed regularly, depending on size, and are supported by an Advisory Report which gives ideas on how through behavioural changes as well as equipment and fabric upgrades, the building’s performance can be improved, and in turn energy costs can be reduced.

Tudor Edward has been providing Display Energy Certificates to many clients in local government and state education since 2010, and we have issued hundreds of certificates and reports. Our clients include local authorities, schools, colleges and academy trusts, doctors surgeries, institutional landlords and private companies.

The process is simple:

1. Collate data to cover a 12 month energy consumption period

2. We will inspect the building and produce your first year certificate along with the accompanying advisory report

3. Depending on the building's size, we will contact you annually to request fresh data to update the certificate, or for smaller units this may be all you need to think about for 10 years!
